Sap

Definition

(technical) The fluid that circulates through a plant, carrying nutrients and water from the roots to the leaves, and sugars and other substances produced by photosynthesis from the leaves to the rest of the plant. Also, a natural fluid that flows through a tree, especially when it is cut or injured.
