Definition

(formal, academic) The process of introducing someone to a new job, organization, or situation, often involving a formal ceremony or training period. In logic and philosophy, the process of making a general conclusion based on specific observations or instances, without absolute certainty. Typically collocates with 'into', 'to', or 'of'.
