Chop

Definition

To cut something into pieces using a sharp tool, such as an axe or a knife, or to cut something off, such as a branch or a lock of hair.

1She began to chop the vegetables for the salad.

2Can you chop some wood for the fire?

3The barber will chop your hair if you want a shorter style.

4If you chop the tree branch, it will fall to the ground.

5The chef had to chop many onions for the soup recipe.
